Heading for the Me262 fighter base at Schwabisch Hall in southern Germany, February 25th, 1945, B-24 liberators of the 467th Bomb Group come under determined attack from Me262 jet interceptors intent on breaking up the formation. In the foreground 'Witchcraft' defends herself with all guns blazing as the formation thunders on undeterred, towards the target. The 2nd Air Division played a key role in the European air war, one of its most famous Liberators 'Witchcraft' completing 130 missions without an abort.
