The Mohne Dam gives way as David Maltby's Lancaster releases its bomb to deliver the coup de grace on the night of the 16th/17th May, 1943. Guy Gibson, nearest, and Mick Martin, having already dropped their bombs, make dummy runs with lights on to draw enemy fire.
